About Us

Who are YOURMIND?

YOURMIND focuses on 3 strands of work:

KNOWYOURMIND is a private clinical practice providing mental health assessment and treatment to young people up to the age of 25 years with a wide range of emotional, behavioural and developmental disorders. Janet has worked as a clinician treating depression and anxiety, self harm, eating disorders, as well as developmental disorders e.g. Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

YOURSCHOOLMIND focuses on support for schools and further education establishments, in promoting mental health and emotional wellbeing through consultation and training, support to staff, pupils, parents and leadership team.

YOURWORKMIND focuses on providing consultation and training on mental health in the workplace. Using our mental health expertise our services include training programmes to HR staff and managers on a)fostering a mentally healthy environment, b) managing mental illness in the workplace and c) effective engagement with employees with long term absence and chronic mental health conditions.

Janet Kennedy RGN RMN BSc (Hons) Mental Health, PGDip

Janet has 30 years experience of clinical work as a nurse within the NHS and for 23 years has specialised in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. Clinically Janet has additional training in systemic, cognitive and psychodynamic therapies. She has experience of working with families and parents as well as individually with children, young people and adults. She is committed to providing high quality care.

In addition to working as a clinician she

  • Worked as a lead consultant nurse, driving organisational change
  • Specialised in child protection
  • Headed up the trust's clinical governance team
  • Worked closely with HR and the management team
  • Taught on specialised training courses at Birmingham, Coventry and Warwick University

As well as her clinical practice her aim has been to build resilience in the workplace and educational communities by focusing on raising awareness and empowering employees, parents and students to talk about mental health.
